Footage of officers rushing from football match to carry out river rescue
Tue, 4 April 2017Nottinghamshire Police has released CCTV footage of officers saving the life of a man who fell into a river. They had been deployed at a football match but during the game were alerted to the incident. The video shows the moments after the man fell into the nearby River Trent, including PC James Patterson entering the water with a life ring tied with a rope.

ReplyReport this commentExcellent effort all round. Great team work and a life saved. And they say "response officers never take anything home"..... These front line officers deserve the official recognition which I trust they will get.
ReplyReport this commentThis is the type of incident where good old fashioned common sense saves the day. This is what the public expect and deserve. No doubt somebody higher up the chain of command will not approve. All I can say is "Give that man a medal" Well at least a commendation. Duty calls and you responded in the traditional police way.
