Safe to Say: HR data on protected workforce characteristics
The Uplift programme commissioned research among force HR depts to identify good practise on recording data on protected characteristics and lower the number of 'prefer not to say' responses.

The protected characteristics are age, disability, ethnicity, gender identity, gender reassignment, marital status and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, religion or belief, sex and sexual orientation.
