Investigation of online child sexual abuse and exploitation 'often poor'
HMICFRS found that while there are 'dedicated and committed people at all levels', investigations are often of a low standard because officers have limited resources to meet huge demand.

Police can take as long as 18 months to make an arrest after becoming aware a child is at risk of sexual abuse, according to a report which found forces often do not properly respond to allegations or concerns about suspects.
