Supporting and mentoring less experienced staff in an operational environment, you will provide additional resilience to operational teams. Responding to a wide range of incidents you will take initial control and engage with victims, witnesses, and the vulnerable
Having completed at least two years in a UK Police Service you have broad policing experience including working in partnership with external stakeholders. You have practical knowledge and understanding of current policing challenges, efficiency and diversity issues.
Able to write clear concise reports, you are capable of persuading and influencing others in a variety of situations using tact and diplomacy. You effectively communicate ideas and information, verbally and in writing, using appropriate language and a style that is relevant to the situation and people being addressed.
You should be under 60 with good physical and mental health and hold a clean drivers licence in Class A and C.
In addition, you must demonstrate our core values of fairness, integrity and teamwork and use your diverse expertise and experiences to ensure your time on the Island has the broadest benefit to St Helena. As an officer funded through the Technical Co-Operation Programme you will be expected to share your knowledge and skills beyond the workplace contributing to workforce, community and capacity development in St Helena.
