We are currently recruiting for experienced ex-police officer to work as a LEDS Development Co-ordinator on a long-term contract, based in Northallerton, North Yorkshire.
The role will be situated within a Police Force, so applicants must be able to obtain national security vetting.
The role is either a 12-month temporary contract (view to extend) paying £18.41p per hour.
Or a 12 month fixed-term contract paying £35,526 per annum.
Role purpose:
The primary operational policing system, PNC, is being replaced by the Law Enforcement Data Service (LEDS). This is a significant change that will impact all areas of operational policing.
The LEDS Development Co-ordinator will be pivotal ensuring the smooth transition of North Yorkshire Police PNC users to corresponding LEDS product as they become available. They will be the primary PNC contact for each national LEDS product team, acting as PNC consultant for NYP. They will steer stakeholders through each new LEDS product release, ensuring work packages are completed in accordance with agreed timeframes.
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide PNC expertise to national LEDS product teams to inform product development. Develop expertise in each LEDS product to ensure an understanding of how they may impact NYP business areas.
- Provide professional advice and PNC/LEDS consultancy to all business areas ensuring delivery of each product complies with relevant NYP policy and procedure. Identify requirements for business change and work with stakeholders to manage change.
- Identify local systems that consume or feed PNC data and work with stakeholders and business experts to ensure the safe transition to LEDS. Identify API design needs and manage technical testing.
- Develop a LEDS Procedure for NYP, agreeing local mechanisms with stakeholders to ensure compliance with the LEDS Code of Practice, appropriate legislation and relevant force policies and procedures. Monitor and report on procedural compliance throughout transition.
- Manage the transition of PNC users to each LEDS product ensuring user accounts are created or updated as required and only upon completion of any mandatory training requirements.
- Develop a roll-out plan for each LEDS product. Assess likely product demand, business benefits and business requirements for each product to ensure appropriate prioritisation.
- Arrange user workshops and familiarisation sessions as required to facilitate the testing and promotion of LEDS products. Direct and participate in user testing during pioneering and early adoption as appropriate. Collate and assess issues and observations before feeding back to the relevant LEDS product team to inform further development.
- Develop a programme of communication to ensure all staff are kept updated with LEDS programme news. Design a LEDS Source site ensuring it is regularly updated and supplement with a regular NYP LEDS bulletin so that all staff are aware of key programme messages.
- Work with PNC/LEDS update teams and supervisors to ensure changes are reflected in local procedural and training documentation.

Knowledge/Experience:
- Experienced in PNC Names and PNC Vehicle/Property Enquiry
- Excellent IT skills including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Proven ability to work as part of a team or on own initiative
- Excellent written and oral communication to include report writing and delivery of presentations
- Excellent planning and time management skills, prioritising work effectively to achieve competing deadlines
- Experience of liaising with internal colleagues at all levels and
- external partners
- Experience of PNC Names and/or PNC Vehicle/Property Update (desirable)
- Experience of PNC VODS and QUEST (desirable)
- Experience using SharePoint to develop and maintain intranet or internet sites (desirable)
