We are currently recruiting for experienced PIP1 and PIP2 accredited Investigators to work as Domestic Abuse Investigation and Safeguarding Unit Officers on a full-time, long-term contract in Hatfield, Hertfordshire.
The role is paying £19.70 per hour, and will be subject to successful candidates passing through national security vetting checks.
Role overview:
To support and carry out investigations into Domestic Abuse, Honour Based Abuse and Forced Marriages.
To provide a victim-centred approach to Safeguarding of investigations and incidents involving Domestic Abuse, Honour Based Abuse and Forced Marriage. To contribute to achieving the Force vision, purpose and values.
Main Responsibilities:
Knowledge/Experience:
• Ability to lead and own investigation relating to crime investigation, acting as officer in the case.
• Ability to operate in a customer facing role.
• Interviewing skills.
• Knowledge of multi-agency risk assessment principles (MARAC and MAPPA)
• Ability to interrogate databases to obtain information required.
• The post holder will be expected to undertake PPE training as and when required.
• Understanding of the Criminal Justice System.
• Knowledge of appropriate procedures and regulations regarding the searching of properties.
• Ability to prepare documentation for case files.
• Have an appreciation of the DAERO principles
• PIP qualified or prepared to work towards the qualification.
• IDVA or CADDA qualification or equivalent
• The post holder must hold a driving licence as may be expected to use their own vehicle to attend meetings but will have access to fleet vehicles therefore business use is expected as part of their insurance policy
• The post holder will be required to work from different location other than the home station.
• The post holder will be required to work shifts.
• The post holder may be expected to work additional hours when required. This will be agreed in conjunction with management and the post holder.
• The post holder may use the Police National Database
• Vetting required, as advised by the vetting unit.
• The post holder will be expected to undertake training as and when required.
• The post holder will be expected to comply with health and safety requirements.
• The post holder will be required to undertake training as and when required by the organisation.
