Red Snapper Recruitment are recruiting for a Befriending and Mentoring Coordinator for a local authority in the West Midlands
This is a temporary contract for 5 months initially, paying £16.85 per hour.
Main duties and responsibilities
- To support and coordinate the delivery of the Mentoring and Befriending service programme, specifically for those which support children and young people who are children in care or care leavers of Birmingham Children’s Trust.
- The post holder is responsible for coordinating Mentoring and Befriending projects and programmes for Children in Care and Care Leavers.
- The post holder will play an important role in recruiting volunteers and working with partners to drive forward the Birmingham Children’s Trust Corporate Parenting Strategy and the delivery of high-quality Children’s Services in Birmingham
- Acting as a champion for children in care and care leavers you will work alongside staff within Birmingham Children’s trust, partners and businesses supporting policies and practice to ensure that young people’s outcomes and life chances are improved
- Working closely with services within the Children’s Trust and partners to ensure that the programme is delivered in a timely manner and opportunities for young people to attend are maximised.
Person Specification
- Organisational Skills: Strong ability to manage multiple projects, tasks, and deadlines.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to provide clear and constructive feedback to volunteers.
- Teamwork: A collaborative approach with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people.
- Leadership: Experience in project coordination or team leadership is a plus, with the ability to motivate and guide volunteers.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to identify potential challenges and develop strategies to address them efficiently.
- Flexibility: Comfortable working in a dynamic, evolving environment with the ability to adapt as needed.
You will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS check in order to undertake this role.
